AICN and FINE LINE present the world premiere of THE MAN OF THE CENTURY trailer!

Every now and again as a filmgoer you get the feeling like you have discovered a movie made without flaws specifically for you. Earlier this year, during South By Southwest here in Austin, after the worst film experience I've had in about the last 3 years, I sat still for the next film. A movie that I hadn't heard much about, other than it had won the Audience Award at Slamdance.
It didn't really star anybody of great significance. Wasn't directed by anybody I had heard of. It was black and white. I mean seriously... How good could it be?
There was only a scant few of us AICN-ers present at the Paramount in this nearly empty behemoth of a theater. We contemplated leaving before the movie started. This is why you walk into a theater randomly and sit for films you have never heard of. This film, quite honestly, took my breath away.
It is not a film of special effects or squibs. It isn't a film made for the nineties. This is a film made for the century. I love this film, the way you love the best films you've seen that nobody else has seen. The films that are you're dirty little secret. A jewel kept behind that painting of dogs playing poker.
I would have to say I'm an advocate for this movie. It is pure unadulterated joy. A film that perfectly highlights the changes and steps we have come in the last 80 years not only as film but as a culture. When 'Gay' was happy and wasn't a lifestyle. But what happens if the two should meet? If the lines between decades and styles began merging in a wonderfully pervasive manner? Well, that's the first step towards the world brought to life in MAN OF THE CENTURY.
I have not forgotten this film. In fact I've been watching it, keeping tabs on where it is, what is happening with it... And I cheered with delight when FINE LINE picked the film up. Coming Soon in New York and Los Angeles, the film will be playing an exclusive engagement before moving on to the rest of the world, but I wanted to really give you good folks the first look anywhere of the world of Johnny Twennies... So I've been working with FINE LINE to bring you the world premiere of a trailer for what is shaping up to be one of my absolute favorite films of the year. And a movie that has almost zero hype. You haven't been reading about in Entertainment Weekly or Premiere magazine. The face of the star, Gibson Frazier, is still not known to the world at large... but for those that have seen this perfect little film... well there can be no doubt that this man is going to be very very well known.
