Hey folks, Harry here and YES, the headline is misleading. Devin didn't even mention AVATAR in his article about Fox seemingly killing any current plans for future "of the Apes" films. I hear he's on some sort of 12-step program to cease his lovable obsession with AVATAR. I know that I for one, would love to give Scott Frank's CAESAR a read. Scott is a tremendous writer and I'd be very interested in seeing exactly what Fox slammed the door on. Perhaps AVATAR became their company's new shiny metaphor for Man's future with things being different. Personally, I'd like to see more apes taken on by intelligent filmmakers like Scott Frank. How bout you?
Last year we broke the news that Scott Frank (MINORITY REPORT) was writing CAESAR, a re-imagining of CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. Now we have found out that he's off the film, and that Fox has put the APES franchise on hold. Chud's story! Devin
