FX announced Wednesday the series will be back in September for a third season. * President Obama’s speech pre-empted “The Jay Leno Show,” sparing it another humiliating defeat at the hands of another 10 p.m. basic cable show. * “Sons” nearly doubled the 18-49 score of its 10 p.m. ABC rival “The Forgotten,” which plummeted to a new series low. * Heather Locklear moving into Laura Leighton’s penthouse at “Melrose Place” did not prevent the series from matching its 18-49 nadir. * “Scrubs” fell a staggering 35% from its Jan. 6 eighth-season premiere. * CBS’ “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” scored a bigger audience than the last seven episodes of feminist drama “The Good Wife,” which it replaced at 10 p.m. this week. * More cable scores will be added Thursday.
