Disney's ATLANTIS & Pixar's MONSTERS INC

Hey folks, Harry here. With a couple of tidbits on a pair of animated features to be distributed by the Mouse House. First up, we'll talk about ATLANTIS. We've been covering this project for quite some time now. The film is a straight action adventure film with no cute sidekicks or Broadway showtunes. The film is a bit of a combination of 20,000 LEAGUES BENEATH THE SEA, JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, ATLANTIS, THE LOST CONTINENT and a cool comic book called WALTER KITTY IN THE HOLLOW EARTH. Characters die, not all deserving of deaths either. Characters fall in love. And there is a TON of cool stuff in this very VERNE-esque adventure. But our milk drinking assassin, Leon has opened up his monthly subscription to PLAYBOY to find out:

Although you probobly already know, in the new issue of Playboy there is a stunning layout with Claudia Christian for "babylon 5". She also lets us know that she & Michael J. Fox will have lead voices in Disney's 'Atlantis". Oh, it the "Girls Of The Big Ten" issue October 1999

From the sound of that, Claudia Christian will be voicing the Princess from Atlantis, whom Michael J Fox meets upon discovering Atlantis. Fox's character is a fella who works in some backroom of the Smithsonian.... kinda like those guys from SILENCE OF THE LAMBS that know all that bug stuff. He's been a researcher his whole life, and this is his first legit adventure. We've had a pair of stories on ATLANTIS in the past, the most interesting having come from Sir Etch-A-Sketch.... A character we haven't heard from in quite some time. (HELLLOOOOOOOOO!!!! Sir Etch-A-Sketch.... Donde estas?)Click Here To Access The Story

Meanwhile, I have heard tale that Steve Buscemi has taken a monstrous role in MONSTERS INC. Word has it that he took one look at the character and said that he'd do it. No details about the character exist, and very little is known about the project. But some cool spy out there will change that.... won't you?
