Ok here's what Ridley's Metropolis is about... Our spy Freder spills the beans, and lets us hear what sort of story it is. Not Fritz Lang-y sounding to me. Oh well... Here's the report.
I have the script. It's basically just a typical hostagey diehard like story set in a virtual world. It's a new virtual reality where you can go out party and fuck while being jacked in on a bed. Some guy goes crazy, want's eternal life and sends a virus that will shut down the whole system killing the people jacked in. The one hope is the GOOD guy who has six hours to find him and revert everything back to normal.
Not the best thing in the world, but pretty good compared to the likes of Virtuasity and LAWNMOWER MAN. Besides Ridley is cool.
Cool indeed. Ridley is the best. Although I have heard that there has been some explosions on the production of I AM LEGEND. I've heard that original screenwriter, Protosevich, has been tossed. I haven't heard what has happened yet, so I'm dying to find out exactly what the hell happened. Personally his original draft that I have is exactly correct (with one change to the end, but this is only about 1 page worth of material) So there ya go. If you know more about the insanity involved here let me know.
