I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER 3 (or I RECOLLECT A SMIDGEN ABOUT THAT NIGHT YOU AND I... AHEM... LAST SUMMER)

While I'm sure many of you could really give a rat's ass about the next movie to feature a poster pushing Ms. Hewitt's breasts in your face... Jennifer does raise an interesting question in her quote from TOTAL FILM. What of interest could she possibly raise beside your britches? Well you chauvinistic bastard.... She asks what the next trend in Horror film will be, since the teen horror film seems to be dying. Well... If I had to guess.... I'd guess that given the success of THE MUMMY, the impending success of END OF DAYS and the upcoming HELLBOY (along with THE MUMMY 2, THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, etc) I'd say a genre of Horror Action is in full preparation to burst out at us. Meanwhile, with the success of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, THE SIXTH SENSE... and if there is any justice in this world A STIR OF ECHOES.... There seems to be room for intelligent horror... but only if... and this is a big if... IF the studios don't look at the tremendous success of THE SIXTH SENSE as being STAR RELATED. That movie is succeeding based upon the subtlty and craftsmanship of M NIGHT. But... well, debate it amongst yourselves down in TALK BACK...

Jenifer Love Hewiit gave an interview with British publication 'Total Film', on the set of her new movie 'The Suburbans'. (Interview is on page 12)

"We will be doing a third 'Last Summer' film. Third and last one. I'll be doing that maybe sometime around April next year. This will be the last, and it's going to be totally different, kind of a new direction, rather having lots of fake scares with loud music. I'm looking forward to it... These teen horror films i think are coming to their end. It'll be interesting to know the next phase. I mean in the 80's there was the fascination with 'boogie' man, characters like Freddy, Jason. Now we have a fascination with this teen horror thing. It'll be fun to see how the next one comes out as... I'm glad and proud of being part of this little run we've had. It's like in ten twenty years time people will be still watching these 'Last Summer, Scream, films."
