BATMAN & ROBIN Writer Akiva Goldsman To Reboot FANTASTIC FOUR??

I am – Hercules!!
Mere hours after the announcement that Disney would purchase Marvel Entertainment comes word of a big-screen “Fantastic Four” at Fox. Now the bad news. Akiva Goldsman, who wrote the two shittiest “Batman” films ever – namely “Batman Forever” and “Batman & Robin” – is in charge. Goldsman also produced "Hancock." That news not horrible enough for you? Michael Green, who wrote for “Heroes,” is scripting. On the plus side, there’s no director yet, so maybe Fox will hire somebody better than Tim Story, who helmed the studio's two earlier, miserable kiddie-crap “Fantastic Four” movies. It’s unclear, according to Variety, whether Chris Evans, Jessica Alba or the tiny fellow from “The Shield” will be back from the two Fox films. Why not make a grown-up version with Jeff Goldblum as Reed Richards and Christoph Waltz as Victor Von Doom? An interesting excerpt from the Variety piece:
Though Marvel Entertainment owns and finances properties like "Iron Man" and "Thor," Fox controls "Fantastic Four" in perpetuity -- as long as it continues making the films. Fox has the same arrangement on Marvel Comics properties "X-Men," "Daredevil" and "Silver Surfer."
But how long, I wonder, does Fox have to wait to make a new FF movie before the rights revert to Marvel? "4: Rise of the Silver Surfer" came out 26 months ago. Find all of Variety’s story on the matter here.
