I can't stress how cool the STAR TREK: ORIGINAL SERIES Blu-Ray collections are. You can find my review of Season 1 HERE. Season 2 of the series will be issued September 22, and there's something kinda nifty about it for hardcore TREK fans like myself. Since many readers wrote in to echo my masturbatory exaltation of the TOS Season 1 Blu-Ray set, I thought this heads up about the second season's issuance might be in order. The Blu-Ray Blog noted that the forthcoming Season 2 set will feature a disk almost exclusively devoted to Tribbles:

Fair enough - as "The Trouble With Tribbles" is a part of this season. HOWEVER, if you look at the above features carefully, you'll notice that we'll be getting a chance to see a Tribbles-centric episode of STAR TREK: THE ANIMATED SERIES in High Definition, as well as "Trials and Tribbleations" - the most excellent DEEP SPACE NINE retro episode incorporating the DS9 cast into the original series' "Trouble With Tribbles". This will also be in HD. Essentially, this'll be the first time we'll see either THE ANIMATED SERIES or DEEP SPACE NINE in HD, and will serve as a preview that portends the probable HD release of both series somewhere down the road.
