Mean Magazine's OLDBOY Cinemash Pits Oh Dae-Su Against AIG Executives!

Beaks here...

Imagine a version of OLDBOY where Oh Dae-su is transformed into an anti-corporate crusader, and you've got the basic idea of what Milo Ventiiglia and Kashy Khaledi have done with their Cinemash of Park Chan-wook's 2003 masterpiece. This is the third Cinemash short we've featured on the site, and this is probably the most ambitious in that they've gone to impressive lengths (on a nothing budget) to re-stage one of the most mindblowingly brilliant fight sequences in recent memory. The results are pretty damn impressive. Here's what Mean Magazine's Khaledi had to say about the shoot:
"Milo came in the same day we were shooting the "Point Break" Cinemash with Human Giant/Reno 911! and we had little time to prepare as the two episodes were overlapping. The day pretty much depended on whether or not he could come in, bang out 78 moves in 45 minutes of rehearsal time, otherwise, the piece simply would not work. With the assistance of stunt coordinator Luk LaFontaine, whose work you can see in everything from "Iron Man" to "The Karate Kid", he came in and nailed what you see here in 3 takes. Incidentally, he got it on the first take and the last two were arbitrary. That and he managed to take some beautiful black and white photography somehow of us at work. I'm convinced he showed up as his Heroes character. He's insane."
