Lotta Bits...

You know there are alot of strange characters in the world that supply me with information, but very few are as strange as the strange Mr Gorshin. He does impersonations of hundreds of cool celebraties and loves the flowing elegance of a question mark. So much so, he is constantly asking away, there by finding out information by the bushel.

"The Talented Mr. Ripley"

If you've read the Parker books, you owe it to yourself to read the Ripley books by our fellow Texan, the late Patricia Highsmith. Not slam-bang action like Stark/Westlake, but a character at least as cold-blooded and cruel/cool. Also, the inspiration for "Purple Noon," which I guess you saw. This one could be mucho coolio.

: "Rushmore"

I saw Bill while he was in town (like we're on first-name basis, right) and he told me he was making this, and that it was written and directed by a local boy. Shooting at a local school, Bill's sporting a sleazy mustache, looking a lot like a used car dealer. Maybe a slimy teacher?

"Confucius Brown"

This was going to be Wesley Snipes meets long-lost cousin Jackie Chan, now Martin Lawrence and Michele Yeoh (with maybe Jet Li included). Could be cool, could be crap. Be better with Wesley, whatever else it is.

"Wild Wild West"

From what I hear (and you hear much more), Sonnenfeld wants Tim Curry, the studio wants Kevin Kline for Artemus Gordon. While Kevin is the far more obvious choice for the charming master of diguise, I say let Sonnenfeld have what he wants! He obviously has a vision, and with any luck, Curry will bring out the homoerotica that just screamed out of this show ("let's see, two guys in a train-car with flocked velvet wallpaper, wearing frilly shirts and leather pants, one butch and one nelly... naw, they're hetero!")

"Mystery Men"

Word is Danny DeVito wasn't able to make a go of it and it's dead. Damn shame. Any news on a "Flaming Carrot" movie? Even animated?
