NBC Picks Up 13 Hours Of Series - From The USUAL SUSPECTS Screenwriter - That Sounds An Awful Lot Like THE PRISONER!!

I am – Hercules!!

Fox Television Studios, masterminds behind international co-productions like Fox’s “Mental” and ABC’s upcoming “Defying Gravity,” just sold another international co-production, this time to international co-production happy NBC (home already to the international co-productions “Crusoe,” “Meteor,” “Merlin” and likely others I’m forgetting at the moment). Titled “Persons Unknown,” its premise as described by Friday morning’s Variety reminds one of Patrick McGoohan’s resonant 1960s British drama “The Prisoner” (which spawned the Ian McKellen remake coming this fall to AMC):
Show revolves around strangers who are imprisoned inside a small ghost town.
Screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (“The Usual Suspects,” “The Way of the Gun,” “Valkyrie”) created the series, so that’s promising. Alan Ruck -- friend of Ferris, victim of a runaway bus, and captain of the Enterprise-B -- stars alongside Jason Wiles (“Third Watch”) and Daisy Betts (the BBC’s “Out of the Blue”). Italy's RAI and Mexico's Televisa are NBC’s partners on the series. Read all of Variety’s story on the matter here. Find a trailer for the project here.
