And The Writer Du Jour On McG's CAPTAIN NEMO Is...

Merrick here...
Let us all take a moment to appreciate and respect CAPTAIN NEMO, the brave little McG project which...thus far...has demonstrated its unwavering love for humanity by steadfastly refusing to come together. You may recall, this is the film in which McG wants to cast Will Smith (HERE) - presumably (but not necessarily) in the title role. After NEMO's script was drawn & quartered by IESB a while back (details HERE), we got wind that it was being overhauled; Justin Marks was brought on board to rewrite the screenplay and serve as "world builder" (or some crazy shit like that). Around the same time, the project was fast tracked in the hope McG would get to it as soon as TERMINATOR SALVATION was released (details HERE). Now comes word that yet another writer has been sucked into NEMO's vortex: Randall Wallace has been brought aboard to rewrite "Captain Nemo: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," Disney's take on the classic Jules Verne character being directed by McG ...says THIS piece at HR. Wallace also scripted BRAVEHEART, WE WERE SOLDIERS (which he also directed), and...well...PEARL HARBOR. This news should've been posted yesterday. I couldn't get online to do it, so apologies for the delay.
