Bradley Cooper Is The Face Of A Franchise, And It's Not GREEN LANTERN...

Beaks here...

Looks like everybody wants to be in the Bradley Cooper business. Having seen THE HANGOVER, I don't blame them. A couple of weeks ago, HitFix's Drew McWeeny reported that the man who once got taken to the woodshed by Michael Ian Black was one of the leading candidates to star in GREEN LANTERN for director Martin Campbell. Though Cooper flatly denied this at the HANGOVER junket over the weekend (claiming he hadn't even auditioned for the part of Hal Jordan), the current consensus seems to be... that he was lying? That's a bit harsh. I don't know a fucking thing about this situation, but I do know Drew wouldn't post a story without solid sourcing, so let's just wait and see how this plays out. While everyone was chasing the GREEN LANTERN story, IESB had an ace up its sleeve going into this junket, and they shrewdly waited until they had Cooper to themselves before they sought confirmation. The scoop: Cooper is being courted to play Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck in Joe Carnahan's THE A-TEAM. Reading IESB's story, it sounds like Cooper was completely blindsided by this question (his initial response was "That's out already!?!?"). Clearly, he and his representatives are in some stage of talks with Fox, but it's important to note that he didn't exactly come out and say, "Yep! I'm the Faceman!" His complete answer - “Wow. Yeah...its Joe Carnahan's. It's very interesting. It'll be cool. It will be cool see what...He'll make a great movie out of it" - sounds very conditional. Cooper joins Common (who's reportedly in talks to play B.A. Baracus) in the A-TEAM casting derby. Does this work for you?
