I haven't been hearing the best of word about this film, but I must tell you folks that until we hear more on this one, you should reserve judgement. I like Katie Holmes, but I do have to say the basic plotline as I've heard it didn't spark a great deal of interest in me. Actually I'm more curious to see how Williamson directs... What quirks or style he has if any.
I saw a screening of Teaching Mrs Tingle over the weekend and let me just say that besides Wild Wild West, it was the single WORST movie I have seen this year! Oh my goodness, just plain AWFUL!
You all know the plot don't you? It's about a grade A student (played so dawsonish by Katie Holmes) who needs to get an A in history (taught by the EVIL Mrs Tingle) to get a scolarship (but she never talks about what school she wants to go to, and the movie takes place at the end of the year so how can she even get IN to a college! AARGH!!! SOO BAD!!! IT'S SOOO BAAAAAD!!!!). Anyway, to make a long story short, an ex flame gives her a copy of Tingles final, but Holmes doesn't want it, and Tingle finds out about it so they take her hostage and...and....I CANT EVEN TALK ABOUT IT IT'S SO BAD!!!!! SOOOO BORRRRRING!!!
Throughout the whole movie NOTHING happens! No suspense, no violence, just really bad movie references!
You guys want some advice? Go rent Suicide Kings, it's a good version of the EXACT samew movie.
