The following group of news about a great many projects came from the young Bill McKay, who is running for the title of most informative. He is using the connections his father, the great John J McKay (former head of the whole shabang), made. However, his dad is wanting the evil Crocker Jarmon to grab the title. He uses his wife, Nancy, around the halls of power charming little bits here and there. But it's like I always say, "McKay the Better Way!"
Wild, Wild West
As for Wild, Wild West.. Variety reported there is no turmoil.. A mere two days after Clooney bailed it was out that WB wanted Kevin Kline to play Artemus Gordon.. I think that's a better choice, don't you?
Wing Commander
oh and Wing Commander.. you said Robert is involved in Digital Anvil? So is Chris Roberts, and for all of movie/computer geeks that means he directed parts 3 and 4 with like Luke.. just kidding, Mark Hamill.. Roberts is directing the film and no returning cast, aside from perhaps the MAN, Malcolm McDowell will return as Adm. Geoffrey Tolwyn. The is said to be set in the period of the first game with the Kilrathi as the enemy.. If you don't know the Kilrathi.. they aer HUGE, about 7-8" CATS.. and they have claws and one BAD attitude.. of course in 3 they were vanquished when Balir (Hamill) went on a bombing run that would make Skywalker proud and obliterated their homeworld.
Total Recall
Yes, Jonathan Frakes has said he will be directing.. and they HOPE to lure the entire cast back, minus Veerhoeven. The budget, I don't think it'll happen really, is said to be around 60 Mill.. I believe Miramax is doing it..this would probably be the largest budgeted film ever.
The Dusk Till Dawn prequel/sequels
Being directed by Scott Spiegel. If you missed him, check out Intruder. Tarantino LOVED this flick, I did myself.. pretty damn cool and gory.. Anyway the duo WAS set at one time to do Halloween 6.. Speigel in the chair with Quentin producing.. they got pissed and bailed.. Now Speigel is directing this one.. About a group of bandits hitting a bank and one of their group turning out to be a vampire.. So far Robert Patrick has taken the lead in Blood Money.. Rumor is Sonia Braga has a role, not Santanico Pandemonium, in the prequel "The Hangman's Daughter".
The Talented Mr Ripley
The talented Mr. Ripley, so far, has Matt Damon attached. He bailed on some other project to work on it.
The Revenge of the Mask
Carrey, who got 10 Mill to reprise, bailed.. They are going with an odd angle.. Stanley is killed and his girlfriend and best friend have to go to Paris. The baddie from the first one also emerges from there.. Also there may be other clothing objects.. Another said the mask will be broken into two and a fight between Ipkiss and another even bigger loser will ensue.. But as I said, Carrey isn't involved.
The Green Mile
I DOUBT Tom Hanks is playing John Coffey, who is the main convict.. In the serial novel John Coffey is a MONSTER of a BLACK man about 7" and 250 or so pounds.. I think your info is a little off.. I went and infered that, and probably correctly, that Hanks will play the head guard on the Green Mile Paul Edgecombe who is that narrator as the film is told by his character from a nursing home, which would require HEAVY prosthetics, but he relates his life as he writes his story about the guards and one special prisoner on the mile..
No other cast has been set..
Frequency
Ok Harry you ain't been doin your homework. I did though. Sly didn't sign. Renny Harlin was attached, but haven't heard alot out of it. Sly was OFFERED 12 Mill, but Sly is supposed to have signed for 10 Million to "Rules of Engagement" I haven't seen alot on it either.. Also his F-1 script seems to be moving ahead, and Robert Rodriguez's name I believe has been mentioned.. Also he is thinking, in a year or so, of doing Rambo 4, Stallone that is, for Miramax after they let him do Copland.
