Hey folks, Harry here - as you can see on the list - I literally had 70 seats, which included space for AICN's own. So in all - this was one of the toughest and hardest lists I've had to put together this side of BNAT. A lot of you have very passionate drives you wish to recapture since childhood - you should pursue them. I can say nothing is more amazing than accomplishing childhood aspirations in some small way as an adult. That said - below are the lucky 70. If you didn't make the list - there's always a chance you can make it in via standby. I'd recommend showing up about 40 minutes before start time (NOON) Saturday - and asking the Alamo Village folks where to line up to get a chance of filling what I'm sure will be the very limited available seating. Congrats to the winners!

Hey folks, Harry here - we've been on a good run here at AICN of bringing folks the early goods on the most anticipated flicks this summer - what with that great STAR TREK screening, and this time - we're doing it again by bringing Pixar's UP to the Alamo Village this Saturday at Noon! I'm so happy that we're bringing this event to some of you folks in advance of the big premiere at Cannes on May 13th - but of course - they'll be getting it in 3D and we're getting it in 2D, because that extra bit of rendering to make it 3D ain't quite done yet. BUT - to introduce and to do the Q&A afterwards we'll have the director of MONSTERS INC and UP - PETE DOCTER. And that ain't all! We're also going to be the first people to see the new Pixar short, PARTLY CLOUDY with its director Peter Sohn and his producer as well! How could it get better? Well with you attending silly bear! SO how do you get in? Well, some of you have begun registering via the Saturday Morning Kid's Club Facebook page - but that's only 50 folks. I'm giving away another 70 seats via AICN. So here's all you have to do. Because this will be a very very hot ticket - I need to find the most gung ho people and family types that would like to see this. I'm talking people that have the spirit of adventure of Carl and the joy of discovery that this film is meant to foster. So write with your childhood dream that you abandoned, but wish to recapture. Send your paragraph or two to: HK at AintItCool.Com with the following EXACT Subject line: I Know What's UP & I Want In!!! Just copy and paste that exactly into the subject line of your email, don't forget the lost childhood dream you hope to recapture before you die and your full name and the names of your guest (Maximum of 3 total counting yourself!) Time is of the essence so I can make sure everyone knows in advance of this Saturday's amazing screening! See you there!
Posted on the Drafthouse's Website: During Buttnumbathon this year, one of the standout favorites was 40 unfinished minutes from the new opus UP from the geniuses at Pixar. Even with temporary still images and incompletely rendered animation, the entire audience knew that this was a classic in the making. Apparently, so did the folks at the Cannes Film Festival. The world premiere of the film is at Cannes on May 13. UP was chosen to be the opening film of the festival, the first ever animated film to be awarded that honor. Before that premiere, however, lucky folks in Ausitn, Texas will get an even earlier screening! On Saturday, April 18, Ain’t It Cool News, Fantastic Fest and The Alamo Kids Club are hosting a free sneak preview screening of UP at the digitally retrofitted Alamo Drafthouse Village. The director of UP, Pete Docter, will be present and available for a Q&A following the screening. Also, before the film, we will be premiering the new Pixar short PARTLY CLOUDY with director Peter Sohn and producer Kevin Reher in attendance. If you don’t make either of the lists, we will have a small standby line on the day of the show. Please note that this will be a digital 2D presentation of UP as the 3D effects are not yet complete. UP opens nationwide (and at the Village) on May 29th.
