HD SOUTH PARK!! LOST!! KILL!! MAD MEN!! BURN NOTICE!! EVERWOOD!! CHUCK JONES!! WEEDS!! HercVault!!

I am – Hercules!!

The 12th season of “South Park” saw Cartman give Kyle AIDS, Britney Spears lose her head, Kenny and Gerald transported by housecats into the 1981 stoner cartoon “Heavy Metal,” the Canadians go on strike, Mrs. Garrison clone a new wiener, Randy battle an Internet ghost in California, escaping thieves take hostages in Pioneer Village, the gang mourn the violation of Indiana Jones, Wendy Testaburger school Eric Cartman, the boys form a Peruvian pan-flute band, Craig prove the key to preventing furry apocalypse, Barack Obama and John McCain divvy up loot, Mr. Queermo try to slap away his son’s love of sports and vampires menace Butters. Butters rules. Bonus features (at least on the unbleeped Blu-ray edition) include: * “Six Days To South Park”: A Day-By-Day Making of South Park. This feature uses commentary, animatics and rough-draft animation to demonstrate how the writing and animation of the show happen concurrently. It also demonstrates why these guys can only make seven or eight episodes at a time. * “Making Boobage: Behind The Scenes.” More commentary, animatics and rough animation. Learn that while a Corvett was used in the movie “Heavy Metal,” the flying car in the parody was a Trans Am. Learn that a real half-naked model was hired to pose as the girl atop the giant bird. * “Behind The Scenes: About Last Night.” Learn via this audio commentary over a rough cut that Kyle’s family were originally depicted as McCain supporters, but changed party affiliation due to a need to get Kyle and Stan together faster. Learn that the same reporters were used for both the Britney Spears and Barack Obama episodes. Learn that Cartman looting TV sets was originally a much bigger part of the episode. Learn that Trey Parker personally completes the final edit on every episode. * Mini-commentaries by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Learn that the Britney Spears show was originally intended to be the first episode, but a crisis of faith led to the AIDS episode launching the season. Learn that Cartman’s AIDS outfit was based on the one Tom Hanks wore in “Philadelphia.” Learn that Parker considers the Spears episode one of the five most polarizing. Learn that a “mini-Korea” had to be set up for three weeks to handle the hand-drawn animation employed in “Major Boobage.” Learn that the worst part of “Major Boobage” was “having to watch ‘Heavy Metal’ three times.” Learn that Parker was disappointed to learn that he wouldn’t get to participate in the writers’ strike. Learn that Parker can’t believe Comedy Central didn’t censor the “he slimed me” semen gag from the Internet episode. Learn that the original idea for “Super Fun Time” had nothing to do with “Die Hard”; it was going to be about Pioneer Village actors staying in character during a Katrina-like storm. Learn that Parker lost his voice due to flu during the Indiana Jones rape episode. Learn that Parker fears someone will someday make a cartoon featuring him raping Kyle and Stan. Learn the Cartman vs. Wendy episode was a holdover from the previous season. Learn that the giant guinea pig idea came out of an idea about testing a steroid that would make the failing economy grow. Learn that “The Startling” was inspired in part by the movie “Quarantine,” because it startled audiences more than it scared them. Learn that Parker thought “Cloverfield” would have been a lot better if it was rated “R” so the characters could say “Fuck!” instead of “Oh my God!” Learn that Parker considered making “Pandemic” in part about the Obama-McCain election. Learn that Parker intended to make a McCain-win version of the election episode (airing the day after the election) as well as an Obama-win, but ran out of time and wound up preparing just the Obama-win version. Learn that Parker likes Soderburgh’s “Ocean’s 11,” but thought “12” and “13” “ridiculously bad.” Learn that the season-finale vampire episode was inspired by an abandoned ending for the “High School Musical” episode.

I have only this to say about the second season of "Caroline in the City": 31-year-old Amy Pietz as Annie Spadaro.
