My faithful Kemosabe.. THE LONE RANGER sent me this report about SOLDIER! Seems work is well underway on it. The canyon you read about here is a pretty cool scene I'll have to do some research and refresh my memory on it!!! Hopefully "The Lone Ranger" will get us more info, especially when they build Tannhauser Gates!
"The Lone Ranger" here. Have a tiny tidbit for you. Was over at Warners on the way to a studio store and passed by Stage 16 whose doors were open with people working. The set caught my eye immediately. It’s a deep canyon with steep walls. In the center is the nose of an airplane with a huge dish attenna behind it, and resting on a ledge above it are the angular remains of a stealth fighter. I asked one of the painters what the set was for and he said "Soldier" I said "The new Kurt Russell film?" And he said "Yeah, starts shooting in January." He also said they were lucky. Part of the set had collapsed but it was at night and there wasn’t anyone around, otherwise he was sure someone would have been hurt or killed. It’s a great set, I’ll tell you that...
