Eye-Spy talks about going BATS at Sony

Hey folkerinos, here's a bit of news regarding that project called BATS that is planning on winging it to our local megaplex this Halloween. Just so you know... Eye Spy is not working on this film, but he/she has had access through other devious means. However, there has been a screening of this film that, is alleged to have, went quite well. If you saw this film... Let me know, I'd love to hear more!

Harry,

It's been more than a while since my last communique. While my spy network has been operating at full force, I, their fearless controller have been ensconced deep inside headquarters plotting out my next bid for global- . Actually, that's all crap,

As it happens, there is a somewhat clandestine project that Sony has quietly shot this summer and is super-fast-tracking for a Halloween release. I've managed to see about half of what looks like a surprisingly cool genre flick, I did this through techniques that the Sumo know only so well.

The film is a remake of Hitchcock's The Birds, only this time with killer BATS. Thus the eponymous title. The film stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Dina Meyer and some dude named Leon. Director Louis Morneau and DP George Mooradian have shot some very cool stuff in terms of camera and ultra-adrenalized action sequences.

>From what I have learned, Sony was planning a small release of 900 theaters, but after a positive screening of the rough-cut are jacking it up to 2,000 screens and dumping a pile of cash into the marketing.

The premise is self-explanatory: Infected by a killer virus, a den of bats goes on a killer rampage, turning a small Texas town into a war zone. The bats will all be CGI, they should be pretty cool.
