Five Years After The WB Cancels ANGEL, The CW Orders A VAMPIRE DIARIES Pilot From That DAWSON’S CREEK Guy!!

I am – Hercules!!
Screenwriter Kevin Williamson (“Dawson’s Creek,” “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” “The Faculty,” “Teaching Mrs. Tingle,” the first two “Scream” movies, “Wasteland,” “Glory Days,” “Cursed,” “Hidden Palms”) is mounting a CW pilot based on L.J. Smith’s “Vampire Diaries” novels. The CW’s predecessor network, The WB, had the opportunity to continue with its superb vampire series “Angel” five years ago, but cancelled it to make room for “Blue Collar TV,” “Jack & Bobby” and “Drew Carey’s Green Screen Show.” Whether or not anyone at the CW thought first to phone Joss Whedon, creator of the revered world-class vampire hourlong “Buffy of the Vampire Slayer” (which, unlike “Dawson’s Creek,” “Wasteland” and “Glory Days,” is still routinely listed by top critics among the top television series of all time) is not revealed in Variety’s story on the matter here.

Who Watches The Watchmen Tie-Ins??
