BBC American just announced it’s bringing two more new sci-fi shows to the U.S. this year One of them, “Survivors,” sounds suspiciously like “Stephen King’s The Stand: The Series.” We’re also getting “Being Human,” about a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost who team up to fight crime. Which sounds to me like the latter days of “Angel,” when the title character dated a werewolf and hung out with an intangible blonde guy. I’m certain our limey cousins will tell us in talkback whether these projects are worth the valuable time of hard-working Americans. Look! Press release!

BEING HUMAN - U.S. PREMIERE Mixing the mythic with the commonplace, the farcical with the horrific and the domestic with the epic, this BBC AMERICA co-production is a witty and extraordinary look into the lives of three twenty-somethings and their secret double-lives – as a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost. The trio do their best to live their lives as normally as possible, despite their strange and dark secrets.
