Hey you all so cool geeky femmes. You know who you are. You love movies, but anytime you go to a fan convention you can't walk for all the hard dicks in the way trying to hit on you. At Film Festivals all the evil men are trying to come on to ya. And online... You get frustrated by self-centered men like me that pant and drool about Heather Graham and well... you know the list. You want to read about film from a more Estrogen point of view. Well I tried it for a little while in my LAKE PLACID review, but... It was scary... I started having these strange abdominal cramps and wishing to squeeze the head of the next person that came up to me. I can't handle that pressure... I also admit that injecting and channeling estrogen in men causes weird cravings like Babe Ruth bars and Oliver Platt. It's not... a pretty sight. Personally, I'd love to have more of you ladies contributing to AICN. But.... I received this letter today that points to a pretty good site that is aimed right atcha... If you know of others.... Do the TALK BACK thing and post the URL... If nothing else... Just know that I am looking for your perspectives on upcoming movies. And so are alot of people. But... well here's Sarah!
Hey Harry--caught your review of "Lake Placid" today and I must commend you for at least *trying* to analyze the all-important hottie factor for your female fans. Not that you actually, well, succeeded--I mean, come on Harry, Oliver Platt provoking randiness? To each his own, babe. ;)
Anyway, I think I can help you out here. I run a webmagazine, The 11th Hour, which is a sort of horror/sci-fi entertainment magazine for chicks. (We also have decidedly gender-neutral articles and interviews with famous genre personalities and such.) But our reviews section contains a handy "Drool Factor" ranking in which the more, uh, corporeal qualities of the male leads are dutifully analyzed. (Check out the review for "Ravenous" in this issue or "The Mummy" in the last issue to see what I mean.) So I figure next time you're reaching for the estrogen appeal, just throw us a link, and therefore you can relieve yourself of this burden and retain your own analytical abilities for further investigation of, say, Heather Graham. We're located at:
We know you're a busy man, but a mention on your site would be hella cool. And c'mon Harry--can you really resist the idea of a bunch of hot chicks who get all worked up watching "Evil Dead 2"? Didn't think so. ;)
