Yesterday we learned that an Australian production company nabbed the rights to make a PHANTOM-based movie (details HERE).
While this is correct, turns out the AP article which brought the project to our attention was erroneous in calling the film a "sequel". In actuality, the project is a "reboot" that has "nothing to do with the 1996 movie" says scripter Tim Boyle on his MySpace blog.
Another correction: the AP article identified the film's title as THE PHANTOM LEGACY, whereas Boyles calls it THE PHANTOM: LEGACY. This is certainly a subtle distinction, but it's a distinction nontheless.
