Brace Yourselves!! Shyamalan Is Now Casting THE LAST AIRBENDER!!

Seems M. Night Shyamalan is well into casting THE LAST AIRBENDER, his adaptation of the recently concluded Nickelodeon animated series.

After an open casting call in Texas, Shyamalan discovered karate star Noah Ringer and offered him the part of Airbender's 12-year old hero, Aang, an Avatar with superpowers who must stop the Fire Nation from destroying the world.

THE HAPPENING was breathtakingly idiotic in too many ways to count, and represented some of the most hilariously awkward and inadequate filmmaking seen in a long, long time. After LADY IN THE WATER and THE HAPPENING, I'm surprised M. Night's being allowed to remain attached to 1) a potential trilogy launcher, and 2) any project that has even a moderately high profile. We'll see, and I want to be wrong here, but I smell stink.
