“Boston Legal” is wrapping up its final season, but America won’t have to go a year without a series from David E. Kelley.
The creator of “The Practice,” “Ally McBeal,” “Chicago Hope,” “Picket Fences” and “Boston Public” has received a series commitment from NBC for yet another legal hourlong.
It's about a father-daughter lawyering team.
Network TV hasn’t spent a year without a Kelley-created series since 1989, when he debuted “Doogie Howser, M.D.” He began his TV career in 1986, when Kelley became of the most prolific writers behind a brand-new NBC show called “L.A. Law.”
