Do Not Misunderstimate Josh Brolin!

Beaks here... Thanks to Access Hollywood, here's your first substantial look at Josh Brolin capturing the folksy bluster of #43 in Oliver Stone's W.:

That boy has come a long way since THRASHIN'. Midway through this footage, you'll notice Elizabeth Banks using a video of a State of the Union address to, presumably, capture the physicality of Laura Bush. While it's definitely necessary to have that point of reference when you're recreating widely televised events, I hope there's more to these performances than simple mimicry. The real-life Bush is self-parodying enough; I'd like to see Stone dig deeper into the man's bitter petulance. If he settles for a glorified SNL sketch, W. will be out of theaters before the election. Right now, W. is scheduled for a limited release on October 17th (also known as "the day before Beaks turns thirty-five").
