I am – Hercules!!
B.J. Novak, writer-star of NBC's "The Office," is in talks to play Private Utivich, Aldo Raine's diminutive Jewish-American Nazi slayer, in Quentin Tarantino's World War II epic "Inglorious Bastards."
If he can work out the details, Novak will join "Hostel" writer-director Eli Roth, cast earlier this week as bat-brandishing Jewish-American sergeant Donnie Donowitz.
"Bastards" is about, among other things, a clandestine unit comprised of angry, vengeful Jews charged with killing as many Nazis as possible in German-occupied Europe.
On early seasons of "The Office," Novak's character Ryan was forced to contend with Dunder-Mifflin assistant regional manager Dwight Schrute, whose maternal grandparents were apparently Nazi war criminals. Shrute's request for the travel visa he would use to visit his 103-year-old Grandpa Manheim in Argentina was protested by the Shoah Foundation.
