AICN’s Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan Took Over NBC’s ER Timeslot Thursday!!

I am – Hercules!!
SPOILER!! Last week “Fear Itself” put Superman back in a wheelchair. This week it brings my friends and fellow longtime AICN contributors Drew “Moriarty” McWeeny and Scott “Obi” Swan what one expects will be the widest (or at least widest non-AICN) audience of their young-ish lives.
Tonight’s episode, “Skin & Bones,” was scripted by McWeeny & Swan. It's about a city slicker named Grady Edlund who gets lost in the woods for weeks and returns looking like a cross between Iggy Pop and those floaty “gentlemen” from “Buffy The Vampire Slayer.” (This owes partially to Doug Jones, who played the lead gentleman in the "Buffy" episode "Hush," and now plays Grady.)
Perhaps the craziest thing about this episode – which is about (again, SPOILER!!) a cannibal-inhabiting spirit called the Wendigo – is that its director, Larry Fessenden, already shot a 2001 feature called “Wendigo,” a 2002 short called “Searching For The Wendigo” and a 2006 feature called “The Last Winter,” which may or may not be about the Wendigo. So either Fessenden has been brutally pigeonholed or he really likes Wendigos!
This is also the last “Fear Itself” for a while, as NBC appears to be airing “America’s Got Talent” and the summer Olympics in the slot for at least the next few weeks.
Take up valuable bandwidth with your predictions and reactions.
10 p.m. Thursday. NBC.
