The "Great Doodler" sent in this bit on Disney's TARZAN flick. The bit about the hand- painted / cgi layered backgrounds sounds like it'll be a blast. Can't come soon enough for my ears... Here's the 'Great Doodler's' report!!!
From what I have seen on Tarzan, so far, it is going to be VERY dramatic, and very pleasing to the eye! The new CG use of the film is going to be awesome! The backgrounds are rapped around a computer model and give the illusion of the "Ballroom sequence" in "Beauty" only these are hand painted BG's!
As for Phil Collins. . . they are going for more of a mix of pop/jungle/momba/very unique music sounds. I had a chance to hear the demo the other day at the studio, and it sounds GREAT!
