FCC Finally Approves Sirius Acquisition Of XM!!

Sixteen months after Sirius satellite radio announced its intent to acquire rival XM, the Federal Communications Commission late Friday removed the final regulatory roadblock by formally approving the merger in a 3-2 vote. If you own an XM or Sirius satellite radio, you can now look forward to more channels and probably at a better a la carte subscription price. XM listeners will now be able to hear Howard Stern’s show and Sirius listeners will be able to hear whatever’s the biggest show on XM (“Oprah & Friends” maybe?).
