About that SUPERMAN Australia thing... and something new

Today, Moriarty and I set about calling about to various Warner contacts to see what is happening with SUPERMAN...
The resounding answer to the story that came from Australia is... Yes, it appeared in their papers... And Yes, it is bullshit.
However, something is going on. There will not be a SUPERMAN film. There will not be a BATMAN film. However, there are discussions of a SUPERMAN/BATMAN film going on in a very quiet way at Warners.
Our source on this is very very reliable, but also a bit of a tease. Remember in ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN.... How Hal Holbrook would lead Redford a bit, but then say something like... "Follow the money"? Well, that's alot like this person.
What we have been told is that this is very preliminary, but also on a fast track. We know it would pit Batman and Superman in an adversarial fashion... One of those ABSOLUTE GOOD vs MORAL AMBIGUITY sorts of things. We hear that the project has a cover name, but we were not told what this name was.
Is it a year 2000 project or a year 2001 project? Well, that would be dependent on how fast the alleged 'fast' track would be. But the idea is that this pairing would energize both franchises and possibly be a gateway to opening up both characters for a very interesting future.
This is not BS... I put this out there simply to try and find out more. Is it a WORLD'S FINEST film? Is there a common foe? What's happening? Is it in Metropolis or Gotham? Is there a story treatment or a script? I do not know. But I'm looking to find out... Actually a whole bunch of us are. So heads up folks... Something is in the pipeline... or so we hear.
BTW... Saw the IRON GIANT poster today... and maaaaaaan... I so friggin want one of those it hurts. It's gorgeous. I've been a fan of the ROBOT carrying somebody poster design for a long time... and have, at one point or another, had the greats (TOBOR THE GREAT, FORBIDDEN PLANET, DAY THE EARTH STILL STOOD) and the ones that didn't have the carrying motif(GOG, KRONOS, SATURN 3, etc) But man... THE IRON GIANT poster just glows. That is a REAL MOVIE POSTER! I wish I had a photo or a pic of me holding it, so you could see the dang thing. I'm thinking of taking my Digital Camera to take a pic of it just so I can share with you my love of the poster. I love the 50's style snipe across the top declaring "IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE" and then the characters below standing in fear and awe, dramatically lit. Ahhhhh.... tis cool. Check it out at a theater near you. I want it to go right next to my ROCKETEER poster. yes.... I shall possess you poster. You task me, and I shall have you. Sorry. Can't help it. If I find it online I'll post it here for ya!
