Beaks here...
The ever helpful DDOG just passed along a link to a brand new behind-the-scenes clip from Darren Lynn-Bousman's REPO: THE GENETIC OPERA, which not only gives us a sense of the film's go-for-broke tone, but also lets us know that SPY KIDS' Alexa Vega is grown up and really into musical theater. Better that than Thunderbird.
Lionsgate is currently planning a limited release for Bousman's labor of love on November 7th. Set in a dystopian future plagued by an epidemic of organ failures, the sprawling story involves a sickly young girl (Vega) and her morally conflicted father (BUFFY's Anthony Stewart Head), who makes his living reclaiming hearts and kidneys and whatever from delinquent recipients. Paul Sorvino co-stars as the ruthless president of the leading provider of organs, GeneCo; Bill Moseley, Paris Hilton and Nivek Ogre play his equally ruthless kids.
The film still looks like it's all over the place, but since Brad Miska and Spooky Dan from Bloody-Disgusting are on the record as fans (the former called it a cross between BLADE RUNNER and THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW), I'm more than willing to give it a shot.
