The Director of DOWNFALL Seeks FIVE MINUTES OF HEAVEN!!

Merrick here...
Oliver Hirschbiegel, who directed a grimly compelling movie called DOWNFALL a few years back, is heading back to politically charged territory with with FIVE MINUTES OF HEAVEN, which'll star Liam Neeson and James Nesbitt.
Project, which is currently shooting on location in Northern Ireland, tells the story of two men wracked by the violence that plagued Northern Ireland from the late 1960s through to the peace process in 1998, and how they attempt to come to terms with the Troubles’ aftermath.
...says THIS ARTICLE in Variety. If you've never seen DOWNFALL and have any interest in either history or war, you might consider checking it out. It's about the last days of Germany's involvement in WWII - told from the perspective of the people inside of Hitler's bunker. The film was controversial because it humanized the Nazi officers & Hitler...offering a different (and often wrenching) perspective of what drove & motivated his inner circle. It's available on Netflix, or via Amazon. Footage of Hitler rants from DOWNFALL were subsequently cannibalized for several Internet videos featuring Adolf lamenting the delayed release of the METAL GEAR SOLID 4 PS3 game, and furiously acknowledging Blu-Ray's victory over HD-DVD.

This Ireland project...could be interesting.
