JM sounds off about a remake of THE THIRD MAN, and a couple of other Ewan projects...

It's strange, but I heard this myself. Ya know though. As much as I like Liam and Ewan.... They ain't Orson Welles and Joseph Cotton. I really really don't want to see a remake of this movie. Why they can't take the basic concept, change the names and locales, and make a DIFFERENT movie with similar themes and NOT CALL IT, THE THIRD MAN, is beyond me. Ya know... the first thing that comes up in this is a comparison. A comparison that they ain't gonna win. Will they have as great a score? I don't think so, that Zither music is so engrained in my skull... The beauty of the black and white so perfect. Well... if nothing else we'll get to see Ewan and Liam on screen again. Hmmmm... Liam as Harry Lime eh? Kevin Spacey I could see... but Liam? Hmmmmmm.... Actually Vincent D'Onofrio... well, that'd be scary. Actually Moriarty has a friend... nevermind.... Here's the scoop from JM...

This is JM again in Ireland

I heard about this about three weeks ago, but would you believe, I completely forgot about it until I opened a newspaper today.

Liam Neeson is quoted as saying he is to quit acting. This is not true. He claims that a comment he made was taken out of context during a really long press junket. He claims he was just sounding off. In an interview with the Irish Times, he claimed that he is to star in a re-make of The Third Man, to be set here in Ireland. The movie will be set in Northern Ireland at the height of the troubles, though it will be shot in Dublin. He will play the Harry Lime part. Believe it or not, Ewan Mc Gregor will play the Joseph Cotten role. Best of all, John Mc Tiernan is attached to direct!

Ewan Mc Gragor started shooting amovie here on Sunday, a biography of James Joyce. The movie is called Nora, because the story is told through the eyes of his lover Nora Barnacle.

While here, Ewan has also 'fitted' in a Japanese Commerical for a pair of jeans!

Busy boy...
