Casting Rumor about X-MEN...

This is just going to be a small tidbit, but I figured... what the hell... right?

Earlier today I got a call from a fella that wanted me to advocate for RUSSELL CROWE for the part of WOLVERINE in the X-Men movie, since it seems he fell from the front of the pack for this character.

But, lo and behold whilst I'm poking around into this whole Wolverine thing another name comes up from my folks in the trenches of Donner's production company. Same folks that ratted out the whole Jet Li is in Lethal Weapon 4 stuff, and according to them...

Bryan Singer is going after Mel Gibson for Wolverine. So, I didn't trust that, so I called another person I know close to this project and they told me the same thing.

Personally, I can't imagine this coming about affordably for the project. I mean, Mel could do it in my opinion, no problem. BUT he'd cost a few arms and legs. Would this mean boosting the budget on X-MEN? Would Fox do that? (Of course they would, Mel as Wolverine sells a crapload of tickets)

Noone would comment on where discussions are at, or if they are even going on. Only, that Mel is who Bryan wants for the film. Take it as a fanboy rumor till it's announced, and feel free to discuss below...
