Ya know.... Sometimes I just hate the studio system to death. Remember way the hell back before Warner Brothers owned Ted Turner? Well, there was this Scooby Doo script from back then that just friggin rocked, but lo and behold along comes Warners... And Mike Myers... and shock... WASTED MONEY. You see... Back on December 3rd of 1997 I wrote up a big thing on the Craig Titley version of the script. Click here to read that coverage! But do they ever learn? Nooooooooooooo... Come on Lorenzo.... Go find that script and then tell me why you feel the need to waste stockholder's money when you ALREADY OWN THE RIGHT SCRIPT! Sigh.... Well, here's the latest from Sherman P. Body, he knows everything dontcha know....
I've finally snagged the inside factamundos on Mike Myers' version of Scooby-Doo. Apparently (as confirmed by several sources in and out of WB) Mike Myers and his writing partner have tanked their version of Scooby-Doo. The inside studio spy says it was "unreadable" and that the studio felt "raped" by Myers and his writing partner. Other sources back this up calling it the "worst piece of shit ever." The script is nearly impossible to get a hold off - supposedly it's xeroxed on red paper and the writers' agents don't even have copies (consider this a challenge to your script-sniffing spies everywhere!) Other unconfirmed rumor is that WB was so angry at the wasted draft that they pulled another one of their projects away from Myers. Warners is now planning to start from scratch again with no desire whatsoever to go back and reconsider any pre-existing versions.
