This jives with what I know of the production. When I talked briefly with Ron Howard about the film I got the impression that this would be a massive production. Also, I've talked with some folks that have seen some of Rick Baker's makeup for this film which they describe as 'fantasticly weird'! How else to describe a realitic version of... well, a Dr Suess character? A while back some folks were belly aching about how they had wished that Henson's Creature Shop had bagged this production... But you know what? Not to take away from Henson's crew, but RICK BAKER is the god of makeup and animatronics. There simply isn't anyone better. The amazing thing is to watch his progression as an artist over the years. From his KING KONG to MIGHTY JOE YOUNG. With this film in swing, I then look forward to hopefully seeing Rick unleash his amazing talents on HELLBOY (keep your fingers crossed geeks!)

I have been told (by those in the 'know') that Universal has had an elaborate semi-tunnel dug from the makeup area to the sound stage so no one will see Jim Carrey in full Grinch regalia. The fx tests have reportedly blown EVERONE away.
