MOUSEHUNT review'''!!!

Our spy SNIFFLES mousily squeaked about MOUSEHUNT, DreamWork's first children's offering. This looks to be a strange flick, but that mouse does seem to do some amazing things, and I love the olive gag that was in that first trailer!!! So we'll see. Here's Sniffles' review.

I saw the movie Mousehunt at a special sneak preview in San Diego in November and did not see a review of it, so I thought I would add my two cents.

This movie was very odd mix of slapstick comedy, dark humor, strange casting (Nathan Lane AND Christopher Walken?) and some totaly out-of-place adult sexual content. The premise is that two brothers (one played by Nathan Lane) inherit a the family string factory and a delapidated house from their father. Without giving too much away, the brothers try to fix up the house but are plagued by a mouse (who is the REAL star of this picture). Mayhem ensues as the brothers try to kill this little furball who outwits them time and time again in every more hilarious sequences. The graphic-animated mouse is great, sly little expressions, great acrobatics, unlike anything I have ever seen. The rest of the movie is very uneven.

If this is a family picture, they need to get rid of some of the adult subplot and out of place sexual references. Christopher Walken's role as an exterminator did not go over well with the audience. This looks like a tough film to market for the Christmas season, a little too dark, but hell everyone in the theater laughed from beginning to end so....who knows?
