Our man on the Rivera has sent Father Geek this early report on what is going to be happening at Cannes this year. Of course, there can be additions expected to his list, but this will give you a taste of what to expect. Speaking of taste our Geek Headquarters crew was treated to some great food at a little get together a couple of weeks ago at Peter Blood's casa. How does this relate to Cannes, well the young lady who cooked all the delightful dishes was an offical chef at last year's Cannes Festival and served up an increadible array of international flavored treats for us that night. She then sat down, apron still on, and went thru 3 photo albums of Cannes images with Tom Joad and I. Lots of food and buffet shots (she is a chef after all), but also pics of famous film types eating and dishing up her creations. I asked her how a girl from Austin landed such a cooool gig. "I just applied." was her responce."No inside connections, no tryouts." Amazing! Well, here's this year's lineup as of now.
