Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. This Sci-Fi flick in question is called THE UNITER and Mario Van Peebles has been kicking this idea around for many years and has written the screenplay. Now he's getting it off the ground with Brad Wyman (MONSTER) and Don Kushner producing.
It sounds like a time travel pic where a political fugitive travels back in time in order to train a 13 year old kid to use some sort of power that will unite the warring factions of Earth before it's too late.
I don't know much more, but I like me my NEW JACK CITY, so we'll see what Peebles has in store with this one.
