A mutated super Apple Crisp that escaped the wholesale donut slaughter at STAN'S DONUTS reached the safety of UCLA just a few blocks away. The super Apple Crisp was nearly chomped on by thousands of Westwood walkers. But finally made it to a floor of a student advance screening of AN ALAN SMITHEE FILM: BURN HOLLYWOOD BURN. Boy that's a mouthful. The title, not the spy. Though... yummmmmmmm appppppllllllllleeeee criiiiiiissssssssppppp.... Speak fast before you meet your just desserts, Super-Apple Crisp!!!
I'm not sure if it matters to you or not, but I have recently attended an advanced screening of An Alan Smithee Film:Burn Hollywood, Burn at UCLA and loved it. The movie, as you may know, is about a director working on a big buget action flic, we're talking like 200 mill +. This movie inside the movie stars Sly Stallone, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jackie Chan(the best in it) and is the buzz of Hollywood. Now the director, Alan Smithee, has just fininished his piece and is ready to go to the cutting room. The only thing is, the studio won't give him last cut\final edit. Now Smithee goes into court lidigations and stuff like that. He finally says that he wants his name off the picture, the catch is, the name the Directors Guild Of America puts on in place of disgruntaled director's names in real life is Alan Smithee. Smithee in turn steals the movie(the only copy) and threatens to destroy it. That is the basic plot. All the while the studio is in negotiations with these two black filmmakers who are brothers(wonder who they are spoofing?) to shoot a movie around this or something to that extent. I believe they were played by Coolio and Dr. Dre but I am not sure. The best thing is that the movie is done in a half documentary style much like Spinal Tap. It introduces the characters like Stallone, Goldberg, Chan, and Joe Eszterhas who wrote it, in an interview type way. Also the fictional characters were interviewed like Smithee and the studio heads. This movie was an A+. I had never heard of it before seeing it(about a month ago) but can't wait to take my girlfriend to see it when it gets released. The best thing about it was that it turns out it is an actual Alan Smithee film. The director didn't want his name on so they took it off and replaced it with Alan Smithee. Unfortunatly, it was the rough cut of it so it didn't include the credits but I think Ryan O'Neil was one of the guys and there were some very recognizable comidians in it but I don't know their names.
I don't want to ruin it so I won't give a way the ending but,as I said, the movie rocked.
Thanks for listing and making a kick ass page .
