Mr Horse and Lowercase on the set of ANY GIVEN SUNDAY

Harry here, and it looks like I've got a bunch more reports on being on the set of Oliver Stones film, including ones with pictures... just as soon as I have the time to do the code for all of them... I'll get em up here for you folks to take a looksee... but for now... be patient.

American Psycho Here....

The American Psycho had made a conscious effort to get down to the filming of the ANY GIVEN SUNDAY superbowl scenes on Saturday, but-alas- he could not make it in his hungover state from a loud and brutal party Friday night.

However, he did manage to send another Psycho, Mr. Horse, in his place. Mr. Horse gave the following report upon returning late Saturday afternoon....

Oliver Stone was there with Al Pacino, and all the other stars you predicted would show. The Dallas Morning News had said that Cameron Diaz would not be there, but she did show up wearing a skin-tight black dress that was more delicious looking than a stadium hotdog. Al Pacino....didn't really LOOK like Al Pacino, and all the guys around me were saying "That MUST be a stunt double". What made him look different? Well...he looked really short. We were only about 100 yards away from him.

You were that close?

Yeah, only about 8,000 people showed up to the thing. Apparently, Oliver Stone wasn't too thrilled with the turn out. They had advertised in the paper that they'd be giving away a DVD player, Car, Motorcycle...all this shit to lure people in. Well, even with that AND Cameron Diaz, no dice. They wanted 20,000, they got 8. So they filled in alot of the background with "cardboard crowds". They'll likely add digital reproductions of the crowd that was there later.

At a little after noon, they announced they'd be giving a free lunch to everyone there. Big Spenders, they were, offering the difficult choice of various Burgers. They gave out free key chains, pompoms (If you're saying "Weird dude, that Oliver", so was I) and some other silly little toy that I can't recall right now.

Oliver was the most fun to watch. He ran between groups of people with headests and clipboards, flailing his arms to direct and sometimes being loud enough for us to hear. He was very animated, even moreso than I imagined he woould be.

As reported, the colors were Red and Gold for the "Dallas Knights". It was the big Superbowl scene, likely to be at the movie's end, yet there was no indication given as to what team would win. They shot alot of ball-running scenes, and some dialogue along the side of the field. MY guess is, and I have no real reason to predict this....is that....(SPOILER) the Dallas Knights are going to lose. It's just a feeling I have having seen the plays they had them making on camera. But, don't hold me to that.

Hope That this information could be of some use to the people who couldn't be there, Harry.

Oh, by the way, loved you in TITANIC.

Hugs and Kisses,

The American Psycho and MR. Horse

Hardee har har guys... Thank you... and all the others that recognize me in TITANIC. Currently I'm still searching for me in that film... but perhaps I'm looking too hard. And now for LOWERCASE's report...

so like a nut i went to the shooting on saturday of ANY GIVEN SUNDAY. what a huge waste of money: i won't say it was a huge waste of my time 'cause i did learn something while i was there. HOW NOT TO RUN A SHOOT! i'll get to that later.

everything i'd read had said shooting started at ten-in-the-a.m.. i got there at nine. probably already 2-300 people in line. line starts moving at ten. if you weren't there early you didn't have much of a chance at a front row end zone seat where they angled their shooting for the day. some dressed as die-hard fans(painted-dressed wildly) got moved up front.

first shot was of dennis quaid, aged-but-respected miami quarterback going to a huddle. reshot several times. first respected cheers(even though he's from the opposing team), then some boos. moved a ton of camera equipment to the other end to do the big WINNING PLAY where there were only cardboard dummies, not real ones like us. to describe play would be a spoiler.

the give-aways were pretty cool and the crowd wrangler did a good job keeping us 'up' 'til the end of the day.

after the end zone play they came back up to shoot couple mid-field running plays, couple of end zone passing plays.

4:30 came around and dennis quaid did the give-away of a triumph motorcycle! the guy was pretty cool. real crowd pleaser. hey, he's a texan so he can't help being down-to-earth. LLcool and jamie fox also did some stuff for the extras-dummies. but when the commie-bastard OLIVER STONE wanted dennis back for a shot quaid told the guys to wait 'til the winner of the bike came down, and he personally congratulated her and gave her a lip-smack on a cheek. matt modine kind of kept his distance, but did smile once at the crowd, his face giving away his thoughts(IDIOTS!)....but hey, maybe he was wrapped up in his CHARACTER.

al pacino? yeah, he's cool. if this guy weren't a major actor, he'd be at the top of the pack in any kind of work. he worked the crowd with his brilliant smile and wave, talked to paid extras down on the field...gave away the F150 ford truck...at nearly 8 pm instead of the scheduled 6 pm. the guy can SMOOZE, let me tell ya'.

around 6:30 the crowd started getting rowdy, and an assistant director, taking over for the wrangler, didn't help 'cause he used a bullhorn instead of a speaker and people really couldn't understand him. then the guy under COMMIE BASTARD would re-explain...and people didn't like him either. it took forever to do the final shot where lawrence taylor gets injured and is taken out of the game(oops - am i supposed to say SPOILER first?).

all-in-all though, it was good to see all the stars being so cool and informal.

....cameron diaz? oh, you want to know about her? well, this is the strange part. i can't say for sure she was there. but if she was, she was never introduced. however, there was this chick, tall, lanky, bosomy, million watt smile, clothes painted on her, that hung out with the paid extras(wives of the players/costumed extras). she wasn't just one of the extras. she got up when she wanted, walked out onto the field while none of the others did...it was all very weird. but i swear to god, if it wasn't cameron, it was her twin sister. had her mannerisms, hair style. saw her up close walking on the mezzanine, but she avoided eye contact with everyone.

especially geeks like me with drool drenching their shirts.

okay. things i learned if i were ever to have to shoot a film(i'm an aspiring screenwriter - written 4 so far); don't hire so many goddamned people. there were hundreds of paid extras on the field and in the audience. in eight hours they shot six scenes...and they only had to move the camera a hundred yards! yes, there was a problem with the WINNING TOUCHDOWN scene at the other end 'cause of the sun being...the sun. still, that last shot with COMMIE BASTARD rewriting the scene twice...give me a break.

i will say this, the sideline extras were great. zonked out one minute then 'up' for a scene. it was interesting to watch.

another thing i learned; everyone wants to be an actor. us extra dummies did things like a strip-tease with three fat guys wearing bras, a gymnast from the crowd did a drill, one girl in the audience did a strip-TEASE...

i didn't win anything but got a free T-shirt. story of my &*@#! life.

just call me LOWERCASE.
