The ELEVENTH HOUR Is Bruckheimer Time!!

Merrick here...
CBS has won a bidding war over rights to Warner Bros/Jerry Bruckheimer's forthcoming adaptation of a British miniseries called ELEVENTH HOUR, which aired last year.
"Eleventh Hour" aired as a four-part miniseries in Blighty last year, with Patrick Stewart starring. Thesp played Professor Alan Hood, who's called in by the government to investigate mysterious cases that involve matters of science -- from cloning to global warming. U.S. adaptation is said to have a tone similar to "The X-Files."
...says THIS ARTICLE IN VARIETY. This sounds quite similar in theme and tone to a well-produced ABC series back in 1999, called STRANGE WORLD. It was a mighty atmospheric piece spearheaded by Executive Producer Howard Gordon of BUFFY, ANGEL, X-FILES, and now 24. Despite Gordon's track record, STRANGE WORLD didn't do so well. It'll be interesting to see if shows of this nature are simply cursed, or if Bruckheimer's patented style will be enough to tip this one through the hoop.
