... and it sounds awesome!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm a huge gonzo crazy nuts fan of Ricky Gervais'. EXTRAS has been rocking balls and I can't wait for the third and final season to hit!
Gervais has wrapped on Extras and now he's moving into features, co-writing and co-directing (with Matt Robinson) a feature called THIS SIDE OF THE TRUTH. The flick is set in a contemporary world where no one has ever lied... sounds like an alternate universe type deal. Familiar, but radically different.
Anyway, Gervais will play a performer who tells this world's first lie ever and realizes the power he can wield with lies... and, of course, abuses it for personal gain. Apparently this character will work in the film industry where actors are actually more like readers who tell completely factual stories. One day he's about to lose his job and it hits him to start making up "long lost stories" and the comedy ensues.
Sounds great to me. There's very much room for Gervais' patented awkward humor... now if only he can get Larry David in there somewhere and we'll have the world's most awkward situational comedy ever...
