Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. So this flick is from writers Larry Gross (WE DON'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE) and Roberta Hanley (WOUNDINGS) and is called VERONIKA DECIDES TO DIE. And the lovely Kate Bosworth has just decided to play the lead character, that of a woman who wakes up and finds herself in a mental institution after having (partially) failed to commit suicide. I say partially because it appears that she's severely injured her heart in the process and only has days to live. Naturally, that begins a journey of discovering true love and a will to live within herself once more.
Emily Young's directing from Gross and Hanley's script, an adaptation of Paulo Coelho's book of the same name. I haven't read the book, so I can't tell you how sappy or not it gets. Just the knee-jerk guess is that it does go sappy, but if handled right sappy can be good. We'll see...
