ATLAS SHRUGGED gets a new screenwriter and director!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. To totally put a nerdy spin on this, I've had BIOSHOCK on the brain since the game hit. It's awesome and takes a lot of inspiration from Ayn Rand's novel, ATLAS SHRUGGED. I doubt the Angelina Jolie/Lionsgate film version will have weird little zombie-ish girls and giant mechanical monsters with drills for arms, but I'm sure it'll be okay without them. We know that BRAVEHEART's Randall Wallace took the first stab at adapting Rand's book and we now know that he was able to boil it down to 127 pages of script. Now Lionsgate has hired Vadim Perelman to rewrite and direct the flick, but it looks like Wallace will still be involved. I quite like Perelman's first film, THE HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG, so I'm curious to see what he brings to this flick. Lionsgate says an early 2008 start date is likely.
