Just when you think HBO can’t produce anything creepier than Alby Grant, along comes polygamist gangster Hollis Greene and his “brother” Selma.
We’re down to the final two episodes of “Big Love’s” second season (the series has already been renewed for a third we’ll see next year), and they’re finishing up in the Sunday timeslot vacated last week by “John From Cincinnati.”

AUG. 19.
Episode #23:
"Take Me as I Am.”
* Liberated by his trip to the convention, Bill makes Alby a tempting offer in the wake of Nicki's disclosure about Weber Gaming.
* Barb learns that her mother Nancy (Ellen Burstyn) is getting remarried, and decides to use the occasion to try to make peace with her estranged family - and provide traditional guidance to Ben.
* Scott (Aaron Paul) tests the limits of his relationship with Sarah, precipitating a visit from Bill.
* Pam (Audrey Wasilewski) makes Margene a proposition.
* Alby takes a personal interest in Roman's rehabilitation.
* Nicki despairs over the "corrosive influences" on the Henricksons, and gets an ultimatum from Alby.
* Bill faces a new threat from Hollis Greene (Luke Askew).
AUG. 26
Episode #24:
"Oh, Pioneers"
(season finale)
* Foiled by Alby in his attempt to gain UEB support, Bill resorts to a new tack to try to bring down his nemeses.
* Preparing for the festivities surrounding Salt Lake City's Pioneer Week parade, the Henricksons are rocked by the appearance of an unexpected guest.
* Margene comes clean to Ana (Branka Katic) about her relationship with "Phil" then takes up her cause with her sister wives - and Bill.
* Sarah and Heather attempt to get Ben to change directions.
* Bill ignores Lois' pleas to take a leadership role at Juniper Creek.
* Margene lobbies for more control in the family, and in her life.
* Barb sets Pam straight.
* After Bill makes his end move in the game to control Weber Gaming, Alby shocks Roman with a power play of his own.
