I am – Hercules!!

Novelist Roy Huggins created “Maverick” in the 1950s and “The Rockford Files” in the 1970s. In the 1960s, he created “The Fugitive,”
a hugely popular adventure drama, said to have been inspired in part by Victor Hugo’s 1862 French novel “Les Misérables,” that ran on ABC between 1963 and 1967.
If you saw the Harrison Ford movie, you know the premise: Dr. Richard Kimble (David Janssen in the series) is framed for murder after a one-armed man named Fred kills Kimble’s wife Helen. Kimble is caught, is tried, is found guilty, is sentenced to death, escapes thanks to a train derailment, and barely manages to stay a step ahead of the law. In the movie Kimble’s chief pursuer was a U.S. marshal named Sam Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones). In the TV show, Philip Gerard (Barry Morse) is a police lieutenant from Kimble’s Indiana hometown and only appears in roughly one out of every three episodes. Over the course of the series, Gerard (said to be modeled in name and deed after “Miserables’” conflicted manhunter Inspector Javert) doggedly continued his pursuit of Kimble, but gradually grew to doubt Kimble’s guilt as Kimble many selfless deeds began to pile up.
“The Fugitive” worked so well that many subsequent series adopted its basic premise, including “The Incredible Hulk,” “Kung Fu,” “The A-Team,” “Prison Break” and “Traveler.” In the early ‘80s, Chris Elliott played “The Fugitive Guy,” evading “the one-legged man” in a series of hilarious sketches on “Late Night With David Letterman.”
Only 42 of the series’ 120 episodes were ever released on VHS. Twelve episodes made it to laserdisc. The set streeting today
contains the 15 episodes comprising the first half of the series’ first season. Guest stars in these first episodes include Jack Klugman, Jack Weston, Ruby Dee and a 26-year-old Sandy Dennis, three years before “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” and “Up The Down Staircase.”
The 14th episode included on the set, “The Girl From Little Egypt,” is key, delving deeply for the first time into the circumstances that put Kimble on the run and giving audiences their first glimpses of Helen Kimble and her true murderer.

The Kids in the Hall: The Pilot Episode
is the never-before-seen uncut pilot that HBO did not use in its entirety.
