April Fools Day on AICN'

It is now April 2nd, I've returned from the Alamo Drafthouse's Spectacular April Fool's Day Presentation of BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA, and on this dark and stormy morning after, I figured I'd come clean on the news that was posted yesterday...

It was all true. For the past three years I've pulled some mighty good April Fools jokes. They have each year found their way into the mainstream media. Printed in magazines both domestic USA and in the foreign press, but this year... I decided enough was enough.

And knowing that 94% of the folks reading out there were wary as hell, and would second guess everything anyway, I decided to treat it like every other day... And report the truth as I found it with the spies of AICN.

All the stories are true, even Hallenbeck being undercover at ILM, the Paul Dini/Bruce Timm BATMAN BEYOND animated feature, Ian McKellen's considering of the role Magneto, a positive rave from Moriarty of an Adam Sandler movie. All of these unlikely candidates were in fact FACT, not fiction.

So for all ye that yelled, "APRIL FOOLS"... well, the jokes on you buddy and buddettes... And for those that believed... congrats, the ludicrousness of this day with all it's Fool jokes like "Production on LORD OF THE RINGS halted" "LUCAS AND SPIELBERG TO REMAKE CLOCKWORK ORANGE" "STAR WARS TELEVISION SERIES" "RADIO TEST SCREENING OF PHANTOM MENACE" etc etc etc... Well I decided to be original... and not be a part of the pack.

After all, the whole point of April Fool's day is to fool people, and if everyone knows you'll be fooling on that day... why play the fool yourself?

I hope you enjoyed the reverse psychology approach to this day, and appreciated the news. Afterall, if I'd done something like said Merv Griffin Productions is considering a weekly television series with me as the host... Well, who'd believe something like that... right? :)
