Some notes on “The Real World Sydney,” launching tonight with a casting special: * According to this piece in the New York Daily News, this 19th edition of the series is the first to feature a Muslim cast member. So I guess this means Mohammad from season three wasn’t a Muslim. * The Sydney season’s Muslim, the gorgeous Parisa Montazaran, doesn’t always wear a berqa and, according to the same Daily News story, is one of those Muslims who (unlike “Big Brother” alum Kaysar Ridha) likes to get hammered on occasion. * The Sydney cast is a rare one for the series in that it apparently features neither a black nor a homosexual. There’s a guy named Isaac from Ohio, so hopefully the show won’t be entirely Jew-free. * While 1995’s “Real World London” featured two Britishers (and a German) among its seven-member cast, “The Real World Sydney” cast is comprised entirely of Americans. * Ages range from 19 to 24. The almost-youngest is redhead KellyAnne from Austin, Texas. * The Sydney season is not the one for which the cast was chosen by viewers. That’s the 20th season, which begins filming Aug. 26. The 20th season is rumored to be set, like the second season, here in Los Angeles. Meet the entire Sydney cast here. 10 p.m. Wednesday. MTV.
